Matt Batulayan is an aspiring fashion designer. Unicorns are his spirit animal. Matt enjoys cooking, playing video games, watching Doctor Who and Firefly. When he is not busy with school or work, he likes to harness the magic and energy of the Universe, he also follows the cycles of the moon. Matt is an Anglophile and a Pogonophile. Matt's favorite designers, include Kini, Dinko, Aitor Throup, Henrik Vibskov, and Alexander McQueen.
Christen Chin, a local girl born and raised on the island of Maui, Christen has always craved the city! She admires the complexity of fashion and is fascinated by the creativity that can be produced. Although she enjoys simplicity, she loves the feeling of being challenged, which motivates her to aspire big things. At the age of 20, she will be graduating with her degree in Fashion Design & Merchandise at the University of Hawaii at Manoa. Christen emphasizes in Event Production & Management and has been honored to work on events such as Axis: Point of Origin, Goodwill goes GLAM!, Zonta Fashion Frenzy and multiple projects with Kini Zamora. Following graduation, she will continue to surround herself with opportunities that allow her to move forward in the fashion industry.
Julianna Bautista is a soon to be graduate of University of Hawai’i at Manoa receiving a BA in Fashion Design and Merchandising. Although she was born in San Francisco, CA, she sees nothing but the thriving potential Hawai’i has to offer the fashion industry. Having a passion for production, she has assisted with and directed fashion shows such as AXIS: point of origin, Goodwill Goes GLAM!, Hui Maka’ala, and multiple projects with Kini Zamora. Her long term goals include producing shows for New York Fashion Week, Paris Fashion Week, and of course, Honolulu Fashion Week. She believes in encouraging young entrepreneurs to follow their dreams and strives to make her mark on the fashion industry here in Hawai’i.
Alexander Propios comes from a lineage of artists. His Father greatly influenced his fascination with art from a young age. Alexander is an aspiring textile designer. He creates bold prints that flatter the body and stay true to his aesthetic. Alex draws inspiration from the beautiful island he lives on and also from his travels. He recently earned his associates degree in Fashion Technology from Honolulu Community College and will continue his education in the future. He plans to pursue a career as a sustainable textile designer. When he's not working full-time in management at Diesel, he loves to surf, go hiking, cook, and spend quality time with his friends.
